Pine Grove Flooding

On Sept 7th-8th from 22:00 hrs till  0600 hrs. Minersville Fire Rescue reponded to a call for help with evacuations in Pine Grove . Rescue 518 and  Utility 520 responded. Conditions  deteriorated rapidly, and MFR was given an assignment of assisting Rescue 993 from Mahanoy City with evacuations of trapped residents in the southern end of town near rt.695. Rescue 518 and 993 safely removed over 20 people and their pets, eventually meeting up with a  National Guard Troop carrier to safely take the residents back to Pine Grove High School, which was set up as the evacuation center.

On Sept. 9th, MFR was back in Pine Grove from 1800 hrs. till 0600 Hrs. providing fire protection , staging at the command post at Pine Grove H.S.
